Loch Katrine Beer

The Loch Katrine Experience in the heart of the Trossachs, Scotland features one of the oldest steamships still in use today – The Sir Walter Scott. Working with the Allanwater Brewhouse they wanted to add to their stock of gifts by making and branding their own beer.

A range of three types of beer was decided upon and the names reflect the heritage and features of the loch.

Auld Steamer – The Steamship Sir Walter Scott Lady of the Lake – A poem by Sir Walter Scott which features Loch Katrine
Captain Mackinnon – The fist captain of the steamship

Hoping to eventually brew the beer on site, the summer of 2013 was a test for market which proved very successful
